HEARTBREAKERS - the L.A.M.F. demo sessions LP 限定 MAGENTA VINYL RSD Record Store Day BLACK FRIDAY 2022
Includes inner bag with a Walter Lure interview by Thunders’ biographer Nina Antonia in 2005 and a 12” poster insert of the Roberta Bayley L.A.M.F. cover outake photo.
Compiled together on one album for the first time, are four Johnny Thunders & the Heartbreakers' studio demo sessions - two from 1976 in New York and two from 1977 in London. Previously they'd appeared mostly scattered over now-deleted box sets. The album shows the development of the band building towards their classic 1977 ‘L.A.M.F.’ album (recently reissued with a newly found original master*), and also points to the direction they would have gone had they not split up. It includes 'I Wanna Be Loved' taken from a 1/4" master-tape discovered by Walter Lure in his attic, after a version mastered from cassette appeared on the now-deleted 'Definitive Edition' box set.
Side One: Born Too Loose, Chinese Rocks, Let Go, Can’t Keep My Eyes On You, I Love You, It’s Not Enough, Do You Love Me, Take A Chance.
Side Two: Born To Lose, I Wanna Be Loved, Going Steady, Flight, Pirate Love, Give Her A Great Big Kiss, Too Much Junkie Business, London Boys.
Tracks 13 Essex Studio demo, Feb ’77; 49 Jay Nap Studio demo, Fall ’76; 1013 SBS Studio demo, Jan ’76; 1416 Riverside Recordings demo, Dec ’77. The sessions also feature Richard Hell (1976 pre-Billy Rath) and Terry Chimes (1977 post-Jerry Nolan).
